Star Stable today releases its 2020 Financial Results:
STOCKHOLM, May 12, 2021 -- Today Star Stable Entertainment AB announced an almost 40 percent surge in daily gamers for its signature product Star Stable Online – with players logging 100 million hours and more than 2 billion in-game chat sessions in 2020. The company’s stellar growth results were further fueled by the launch of a multifaceted entertainment product line that includes books, animation and original music that together have made Star Stable an epicenter for today’s tween/teen girls.
Star Stable Online is currently the world’s biggest horse and adventure game with over half a million active players per month (up from 300K in 2020). Last year, the gaming company increased its revenue to $44 million. The game had 640,000 monthly active users in Q1 2021, and increase of 25% compared to the same period in 2020.
“Even more girls from around the world came to know and love Star Stable in 2020. For many, it was a destination to meet friends they couldn’t play with otherwise and for others, the expansion of the product lines fueled their interest in positive female characters and adventure that spanned music, books and animation,” Johan Sjöberg, CEO, Star Stable Entertainment AB. “We are extremely encouraged by our strong growth and are committed to becoming a top destination regardless of the medium where players can engage with our characters and stories and each other.”
With a specific focus on tween and teenage girls, Star Stable has been uniquely positioned in the gaming world since its beginnings. The franchise has grown year over year and during the pandemic this relationship has deepened considerably with a sharp increase in both the number of users and the time they spent on Star Stable Entertainment’s various platforms.
Globally, the number of daily active users (DAU) increased by an average of 39%, with a 53% increase in time spent playing the game when compared to 2019 statistics. “We are proud to offer an expanding gaming and entertainment platform that fosters social connections, adventures and creativity for an underserved audience of female players,” says Tabitha Hayes, CMO, Star Stable Entertainment.
Star Stable Entertainment broadened its offerings in 2020 beyond its hit game, Star Stable Online, to a range of entertainment verticals with the goal of becoming the leading entertainment platform for tween and teen girls worldwide. Last year, Star Stable debuted a new book trilogy – Soul Riders, with the third and final installment released earlier this month. Related, Star Stable’s independent record label has debuted more than 40 single hits with more than 10 million streams across all platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
In Q1 2021, Star Stable Entertainment debuted its new animated series, Star Stable: Mistfall starring Banita Sandhu (Pandora) and Kevin Alves (Locke & Key), and written by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Alice Prodanou (Hotel Transylvania, Inspector Gadget, 6teen, and My Babysitter’s a Vampire). Star Stable: Mistfall has now reached almost 11 million views on Star Stable’s YouTube channel. Additionally, Star Stable unveiled Wildwoods, its first all-new in-game area in three years, which features intricate terrains and biomes along with wild horse herds of different styles and personalities.
